With filEOB, IMPOWER extends its workflow enhancement capabilities to include managing the multitude
of paper explanation of benefits (EOB) flowing into your organization. By utilizing IMPOWER's
scanning component +IMAGE PRO, paper EOBs are scanned into batches or jobs, and
can then be filed by patient through IMPOWER filEOB.
filEOB provides a flexible means of storing paper-based EOBs to a patient's folder
electronically. filEOB offers the option of using optical character recognition (OCR)
technology to index an EOB to a patient’s folder by account number. It also provides the option of
dividing the EOB by patient, and then integrating it with your practice management software (PMS) system's
payment-posting screen to allow for automatic indexing upon completion of the payment posting function. This
feature also automatically masks out all other patient data from the EOB, thereby ensuring compliance with
impending HIPPA privacy and security regulations. By incorporating filEOB with your PMS system
in this manner, IMPOWER becomes a powerful workflow tool and allows the efficient completion of payment
posting and indexing in just a few keystrokes. Quality assurance measures are implemented by leveraging
text-to-voice technology to provide an audible means of ensuring correct account numbers for filing accuracy.
Furthermore, with some practice management software systems your claims can be indexed and combined with IMPOWER's
AutoMatch module to automatically match up scanned EOBs to their corresponding claims.
