POWERbill brings patient statements and remittance posting to a whole new level. Far more than another outsourcer of statement printing, we not only add electronic bill presentment and payment to the print offering, but an advanced scanning and forms recognition software product that nearly fully automates the posting of patient payments.

Printed Statements

Like so many others, we will act as your outsourcer for your statements. Send us statements as often as you like.  Use our Web site to control statement messages, practice name and address, remit-to name and address, and even your statement format.  Choose between your classic single-side statement or our patient-friendly, double sided form.

Our statement processing services include address cleanup and correction using CASS mail certification/presort and NCOA (National Change of Address) database, Internet file transfers, and custom inserts.

Presentment and Payment

As part of our processing, we store a copy of the statement on-line.  The patients are directed to the Web site by a message on their statement, which also includes their personal identification number (PIN).  With their account # and PIN they can see a copy of their most recent three statements, print a copy, and even pay on-line by credit card or electronic check.  Funds are deposited directly into your practice’s own checking account.

Payment information can be viewed and downloaded by you daily.  Our POWERpost module will then post this information automatically into your practice management software either through an electronic interface (if available) or by simulating keystrokes.

Your patients can opt to receive a notification by e-mail when new statements are available and not receive a paper statement any longer, resulting in a significant cost savings to the practice.

Patient Remittance Processing

When you open the mailed-in payments you can scan the statements stubs using our POWERbill software.  Our forms recognition engine will read machine print, hand print, check marks, and barcodes in order to gather enough information for credit card processing and payment posting.

You don’t have to do any data entry, just verification of questionable data.  Credit cards are charged, posting reports generated, and payments posted to your practice management software via electronic interface (if available) or by keystroke simulation.

If you have our IMPOWER Product Suite, statement stub images can also be stored in our document repository for subsequent lookup such as for credit card number and authorization confirmation.

Electronic bill presentment When your patients opt to receive electronic notification of statement availability, they know about an available statement as soon as it is 'printed' rather than after it arrives in the mail. They can immediatley view it. If they opt not receive paper statements, you save a significant amount of money for each statement.
Electronic bill payment When your patient pays online you receive your money faster than if mailed to you or your lockbox. You won't have to pay a lockbox to handle the payment nor will you have to do it yourself. In fact, with our POWERpost module you won't even have to post it your practice management software.
Character and Barcode Recognition By 'reading' the data on the form we save you having to type it in. While recognition is never 100% accurate, it is close enough to make it worthwhile. By only having to verify the questionable recognition results (a very small percentage of the total data), you save time and improve the accuracy of the overall results. Fewer data entry mistakes will be made since the computer is doing the data entry and you are double-checking the computer.
Automatic Payment Posting Whether using a direct electronic interface to your practice management system or simulating keystrokes, you will not have to post your payment manually, saving you significant time. You will spend a fraction of the time doing data verification than you would doing the posting, with more accurate end results, saving you time well beyond that required just for the posting.
